“Rejoice with me…”

While the verses of Luke 15:6, 9 clearly are talking about rejoicing over finding something which was once lost, I do believe they model a behavior which I hope to replicate today: to find people to rejoice with you over some good news!

The good news for me, is that I am finally feeling better! After a week of chemo and a week of receiving fluids, I believe all the meds are flushed out and I am currently drug free!

This really is a blessing because I have gone from feeling bad, to ok, to really just not 100% Thursday and Friday of this past week I had some signs of improvement coming upon me and toady I truly feel much better. This gives me the opportunity for one full week of normalcy before my second round of chemo on Monday, June 6th.

Last night, with the nurses’ permission, I was able to meet up with my good friend Matt. He drove both of us downtown where we enjoyed a nice dinner with an old college buddy of ours who was visiting with his wife from out of town. It was a small trip, just a short time out, but it felt so good to be able to do something other than sit at home with nausea. It was great for my spirit both to be out and to catch up with good friends.

So rejoice with me! For a good day, and hopefully a good week before I begin round 2. I still have to be careful of germs and infections, but Tuesday I have a dr’s visit and am hoping to find out that my white blood cell count is back up and ready for the next treatment.

I appreciate everyone’s prayers, thoughts, texts, emails and even cards and care packages! Your love and kindness has been amazing, thank you for joining me on this journey, when it’s hard and when it’s easier, like today.

Many blessings,
Daniel “stallion” Stevanus
